International Food Competition
The Parents' Night food competition will feature popular dishes from the cultures that represent the largest student communities at GWPS.
Here’s how it works:
-
Join one of the teams with food from your favorite cuisine and prepare a couple of your signature dishes before the event. We’ll provide portion size suggestions and price guidelines.
-
On the night, you’ll join other parents on your team to serve the dishes you’ve brought, and together you'll sell your food to the crowd. We’ll supply food packaging and some limited kitchen equipment to help you serve your food.
-
The team that sells the most food by the end of the night wins the competition!
The winning team will receive a special prize and be officially recognized by our principal — a moment that will surely make your children proud!
There is a limited capacity in each team, so join the teams early to secure your spot and help us organize the night quicker and better.

Although we prefer homemade food and home-baked desserts, store-bought or restaurant-bought food, desserts, and items are welcome and accepted in the competition!

If you own a small food business and want to promote it within the school community, this is your chance to get involved! Join one of the teams and showcase your food to the crowd. You can also boost your visibility by sponsoring the event—an excellent opportunity to further promote your business.

All money raised by each team will go toward the Parents' Night 2025 fundraiser, which aims to buy more laptops and technology resources for our students.

On the night, each guest will receive 4 food vouchers worth $20, which can be used at any of the cooking competition stalls. If you’d like to enjoy even more food, additional vouchers will be available for purchase during the night (Each voucher costs $5).

If you're participating in the International Food Competition and bringing food to sell with your team, you'll receive 2 extra food vouchers (an additional $10 in food credit). You can use these yourself — even at your stall — or share them with a friend or family member to enjoy on the night.
Not keen on cooking or bringing food? No problem! Just bring your own drinks, come along to enjoy the delicious food on offer, and support the teams by buying from their stalls. There’ll be food, dance performances, and a dance floor waiting for you!
